Working with words
As a former journalist who later moved into media and public relations Jackie Williamson formed WordAid when she realised there was a gap in the market that her skills and experience could fill.
There are lots companies who provide a similar service to big, private sector firms but small businesses and charities are rarely able to afford their fees. Jackie provides a high quality, professional and reliable service at a level they can afford.
She worked for Thames Valley Police for 11 years and for the charity Dogs for the Disabled for another two, so she is comfortable working within limited budgets. |

Most of her clients know what they want to say but don’t always have the confidence or skills to get the words down on paper and that is where WordAid can help. Whether it’s writing for web sites, annual reports, brochures, leaflets, newsletters, press releases or just everyday writing tasks, she can either do it for you or show you how to do it yourself.
As well as offering a full range of writing, marketing and public relations services WordAid also offers workshops that show people how to develop their own skills in media awareness, press release writing and newsletter production.
A volunteer director for Pembrokeshire Frame, where she advises on marketing and publicity, Jackie also looks after publicity for Red Dragon Divers (formerly Fishguard Sub Aqua Club) and the Beagle Welfare Association. She is a founder member of the Acorns Writers’ Group in Fishguard, editor of the book Best Friends – the story of Dogs for the Disabled and has nearly completed a book about sailing around the coasts of Wales, Ireland and the Isle of Man.
